The General Department of Customs recently released a detailed report on fibre imports of Vietnam during 2007.
The figures show that the textile and garment industry imported 425 thousand tons of fibres, worth US $744 million, representing a year–on–year growth of 25.4 and 36.8 percent.
Among all suppliers, Taiwan shipped nearly 198,000 tons of fibre valued at $312.5 million, posting arise of nearly 16 and 26 respectively in terms of volume and value, against 2006.
