On an annual basis production for Manufacturing Industries for January 2008 was 1.6% higher than in January 2007. The seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for Manufacturing Industries for the three month period November 2007 to January 2008 was 1.8% higher than in the preceding three month period.
The “Modern” Sector, comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed an annual increase in production for January 2008 of 3.7% while a decrease of 2.8% was recorded in the “Traditional” Sector.
The seasonally adjusted industrial turnover index for Manufacturing Industries was 2.7%lower in the three month period November 2007 to January 2008 when compared with the preceding three month period.
On an annual basis turnover was 5.3% lower when compared with January 2007. Industrial Production and Turnover indices for the year 2007. The results for 2007 incorporate revised returns in respect of a number of sub-sectors.
