According to the National Bureau of Statistics, production of various fabrics by above scale enterprises in February 2008, reached 3.469 billion meters, an increase of about 549 million meters showing a rise of 18.8 percent, when compared to same time last year.
During the first two months of 2008, China's total production of various kinds of fabrics registered a growth of 11.59 percent, by reaching nearly 7.553 billion meters, over the same period of 2007.
The production of cotton cloth by above scale enterprises in February 2008, reached around 1.86 billion meters, an increase of nearly 287 million meters boosting up to 18.25 percent, from the same period last year. However, it marks a decrease of about 134 million meters representing fall of 6.72 percent, from the previous month.
China's total output in January-February 2008, came to nearly 3.854 billion meters of cotton cloth witnessing a growth of 14.30 percent from the same period last year.
The above scale enterprises produced around 13.927 billion meters of cotton cloth from September 2007 to February 2008.
