Exports made in the past eight months earned a total of US $854.5 million dollars to Ethiopia, recording a year-on-year surge of 32 percent.
The growth achieved, surpassed the 20-25 percent annual target projected under the five year plan.
Oil products, among others, fetched a $217.8 million income for the country accounting for 25.5 percent of the total revenue generated in the same period.
Export of leather and leather products, textile and garments also contributed immensely to the overall revenue procured from the trade done.
A significant point of notice is that the number of countries consuming Ethiopian exports also grew to 120 from 57 recorded some 10 years back. This was essentially a result of the gradual increase in the country's trade.
