According to reports provided by Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), so far the country proudly houses nearly 2,000 textile and apparel industries, among them 500 enterprises are owned by foreign entrepreneurs.
Out of these 500 units, Taiwan has largest share with 150 textile and garment bases in Vietnam. It also plays a key role in supplying material like fibre and yarn to local industry.
It has been observed that, Taiwanese enterpreneurs have made huge investments into important areas of textile and apparel industry including dyeing and fibre plant in Vietnam.
Officials from VITAS believe that, a lot of capital will continue to flow in from Taiwan in textile and garment sector, as the local Government is coming up with various flexible policies and programmes that are aimed to attract foreign investors.
