Chemical industry of Japan has undergone major transformation in the last few years and the present scenario does not give an optimistic view to the production, shipment and inventory status of the sector at large.
Industrial sources from Japan informed that a drop was recorded in Japanese ethylene production for the month of April compared to the same period last year. Reasons have been accredited to shut down of production plants for maintenance.
A decline of 3.5 percent had been reported in March as compared to the previous month while a drop of 14 percent was marked against the same period last year.
Production for benzene went through a similar fate dipping by 3.4 percent in March compared to February and by 11.5 percent than in the similar period last year.
