According to Department of Industry and Trade, exports of Quang Nam Province continued to rise in the first half of 2008. Exports grew in terms of volume and showcased a year-on-year rise of 19.52 percent. However, it accounted for just 48.9 percent of its total target of this year.
Major exporting products remained textile and garment, footwear, handicraft products and wooden artifacts.
According to the report, the textile and garment exports turnover generated nearly US $16 million during January to June, boosting 29 percent yearly.
Footwear fetched almost $27.12 million of foreign currency for the nation, a considerable rise of 18.9 percent during this period.
