Provincial authorities are taking aggressive measures, so that atleast 13 sub-projects at the on-going venture Qinghai International Carpet Center (QICC) are completed during 11th five-year plan of Chinese government.
Sources report that of the total required investment of 1.8 billion yuan, 733 million yuan has already been contributed to project.
Qinghai Tibetan Sheep Carpets Group, one of the leading players in carpet industry, has already set up its base in the city and has already started operating. Insiders say that Company has imported first batch of equipments from Belgium and Germany, and predicts to accomplish production value of 200 million yuan.
QICC is located in South Xining City in Qinghai. With carpets display and transaction, it is expected to emerge as the 'World Capital of Tibetan Carpets'.
QICC have two stories and total building area is spanning around 18,000 square meters. It will mainly deal with Tibetan carpets, handicrafts, gems and precious stones as well as other textile products.
A series of related projects will be built around it, including World Museum of Handmade Carpets, Tibetan carpet production base and Tibetan carpet training and developing center.
