Rhodia innovation gathers a number of intelligent textile products, with an exclusive technology ownership by the company the incorporation of the function or intelligence in the polymeric system which is later processed into textile filaments.

This technology makes for outstanding benefits for the final product, whatever the clothing is used for. The intelligent characteristics of the textile yarn are perennial, remaining in the textile item throughout its useful life.

From the standpoint of the textile industry, the use of intelligent yarns with functions fitted to the polymeric system allows the manufacture of fabrics with infinite color options, expanding design possibilities and visual appeal essential characteristics in segments such as lingerie, underwear and sportswear.

Simultaneously, all intrinsic polyamide characteristics are kept, providing soft touch, easy care (use and maintenance easiness), resistance and elasticity.”

Consumer market - Emana development caters to the customers needs, according to the findings of studies and analyses of the textile market.

The garment customer seeks a product that offers some essential characteristics, such as all time comfort and well-being.

“This is true for all individual's activities, whether for daily use, for work and for walks, or in the practice of any kind of sports activity”, says Elizabeth Haidar, marketing manager of Rhodia Poliamida Fibras. Customer also wants clothes which help them to show their lifestyle, and which are fashionable.

Clothes are a way of the individual to interact with the environment, says Elizabeth Haidar. “Our constant challenge, with the production chain weaving mills, knitting mills and garment-making industry is to create solutions which contribute to improve the life quality of our customers”, says Rhodia manager.

Besides internal efforts for Emana development, Rhodia also counted on the support of some company partners during this process. “These companies share the same work philosophy with us.

They also desire to provide the market with high quality products, ensuring benefits for the consumer who value our products,” she says. Affiniti/Berlan, Rosset and Scala/Trifil also participated in the development of this new technology.

Valued productive chain Rhodia innovation promotes Brazilian textile industry to the rank of state-of-art technology and strengthens Rhodia position in special polyamide textile yarn segment.

“Rhodia is a forerunner in this process,” says Elizabeth Haidar, remembering that Rhodia was the pioneer in the textile sector: When introducing artificial and synthetic filaments in Brazil.

Rhodia was the first company to create and produce microfibers, supermicrofiber and intelligent textile yarns, featuring a historical participation in the development of Brazilian fashion industry which is internationally known.

With Emana development, Rhodia also intends to expand its participation in polyamide textile yarns market in Latin America. “Our market strategy focuses on the increasing of exports from Brazil,” says Elizabeth Haidar.

Currently, about 10% of textile yarns produced by the company in Brazil are mainly exported to Latin American countries, mostly to Argentine and Colombia. Rhodia aims at expanding business to North America, beginning with Mexico.
