Textile & garment exports to China scale new heights

Available statistics show that in the month of June, textile and garment export to China rose by 108 percent compared to May and 148 percent over same period for pervious year.
The figures for January to June depict a year-on-year growth of 67 percent, to touch US $27.2 million.
Some apparel products saw strong export growth rate that includes underwear for $2.008 million, boost of 181 percent; jackets, up by 121 percent in terms of volume and 87 percent in value; elastic shirt, up by 27 and 47 percent respectively. Exports of trousers also surged by 203 and 164 percent, in both volume and value respectively.
On the other hand, export of fabrics, sweater and jeans saw a drop when compared with previous year.
Export of fabric was lowered by 0.5 percent to $11.7 million accounting for nearly 45 percent of total Vietnam's textile and garment export to China. Sweater plunged by 53.6 and 66 percent in terms of value and quantity. Whereas export of jean reduced by 81.68 and 80 percent in terms of value and volume over same period of previous year.
On the whole, Vietnamese, textile and garment items gained considerable achievement in Chinese market.
