Scalamandre launches online outlet store

Renowned luxury home furnishings, design and marketing company Scalamandre has launched an online outlet store, a first for their luxury brand.

Initially, the site will feature only Scalamandre fabrics available for immediate purchase to the retail consumer as well as Scalamandre's core customer, the interior design trade.

"The idea behind the online outlet store is that everybody loves a bargain, especially those in the know when it comes to designer fabrics and home decor," states Mark J. Bitter, Co-CEO of his family's company.

"As we launch this new venture online, we do so knowing that more than three-quarters of our revenues will come from professional designers who have always been the biggest buyers of our closeout fabrics.

Typically, we would sell our closeouts to a local fabric retailer. Recently we have decided in favor of an online model offering the closeouts to both the public and designers as a number of customers have complained that the closeouts were only available in New York. The online venture for the first time makes the closeouts available nationwide; for that matter, worldwide."

Bitter continues, "While consumers have access to the closeouts, don't get your hopes up that the rest of the collection will be available for consumer direct purchases anytime soon. We are still 100% dedicated to the interior design trade and do not foresee any changes to that model."

To access the Scalamandre outlet store, log onto Scalamandre's website. From the welcome page, click "Outlet Store" to view all outlet fabrics. Price points start at $10.00/yard.

Cotton and linen prints, silk damasks, lampas, small scale jacquards and outdoor fabrics are all available at Scalamandre's online outlet store.
