PTA and MEG prices continued their downtrend while Semi-dull and bright polyester chips also fell. Prices of acrylic staple fiber 1.5D × 38mm, acrylic top 3D × 102mm consolidated; CPL, nylon 6 chip also followed the trend set by the others.

Polyester market price continues to be weak with prices falling further with turnover also being reported to be very less. The main reason being that down stream buyers of polyester filament sector are short on liquidity which has sent a pall of gloom over the market.

Most traders believe that overall market outlook of polyester filament is expected to slip further.

Yarn market was relatively flat, yarn prices of few products weakened. Cotton yarn 32s had better demand, it is mainly used in production of nylon-cotton fabrics on air-jet looms, and other specifications had little demand. Prices of few varieties in polyester-cotton 80/20 series also fell.

Polyester and viscose yarn prices remained unchanged. Rayon yarn market performed weak, trade volume of rayon yarn 10s was fair, and other items had small trade volume.

Price of viscose staple temporarily showed stability. Polyester yarn market sank in downturn, price trend declined, demand of polyester yarn 45s was better than other specifications.

Market price of polyester staple fiber is expected to meet a big drop. Market outlook of polyester yarn is expected to continue a downward trend
