Texworld opens its doors on Monday, 9th February 2009 at the Paris le Bourget exhibition centre. Despite the upheaval in the global economy, Texworld has no cause for concern, as its range of products exactly corresponds to the requirements of the trade buyers. The consumers are, now more than ever, searching for creative clothing at the best value in their national markets. Texworld offers a very diverse product range with a wealth of variety, quality and creativity, while still remaining extremely competitive.

Visitors (around 16,000 people, 87% of which are international) widely approve of the exhibition's positioning as well as the policy of services that have been put in place by the management, according to the latest surveys. A 2010 spring/summer season that is especially appealing, colourful and full of optimism, in response to a general desire: to see the horizon brighten up in 2009/2010.

If you could draw up a profile of the typical Texworld buyer, they would be European and a decision-maker. 74% of visitors to Texworld come from the European continent, 13% from Asia, 10% from America, which demonstrates the very international character of the exhibition where three quarters of exhibitors are foreigners to the European continent.

The visitors are professionals from throughout the textile sector: manufacturers, agents, wholesalers, distributors and stylists It is important to emphasise that more than 77% of them hold a decision-making function or wield an influence in purchase decisions in their company. Many come from the styling and design fields (28%), or from buying departments (21%). Half of visitors belong to a small or medium-sized business (between 1 and 100 salaried staff). And 15% work for very large businesses which employ more than 500 people.

First and foremost they are major buyers. More than 58% purchase between 1 and 100 million euros worth of goods annually. And well over that, since 5% confirm they make purchases worth more than 500 million euros annually. This represents very considerable buying levels of fabrics or textile/clothing products.

Almost half of them are looking for products that are destined for women's garments, but all sectors of the clothing business are of interest to them: menswear, childrenswear, sportswear, swimwear and underwear, as well as upholstery fabrics. On the whole they are satisfied with Texworld's very comprehensive offer but are always on the lookout for new products and new suppliers. They confirm that they endeavour to increase their contacts with exhibitors at each show and to establish strong ties with them.

A selection of high-calibre exhibitors:
To respond to the wishes of our visitors the show aims to develop continuously, especially by improving the range of the show each session. Hence, Texworld has chosen its exhibitors with particular care to take this demand into account, an essential strategy in reaction to the turbulence generated by the global financial and economic crisis. There will thus be 650 exhibitors gathering at Texworld for this February's show, they will be spread over Hall 2 and Hall 3, connected by a covered passageway.
