SmartSilver, a breakthrough anti-microbial additive from NanoHorizon has been approved by the International Oeko-Tex Association as not harmful to health.

NanoHorizons Inc. is a leader in the emerging, cutting-edge field of practical nanotechnology for a broad range of consumer, commercial, and industrial applications. The company's nanoscale silver antimicrobial additives, marketed globally to the medical, textile, and apparel industries under the SmartSilver brand, offer permanent, safe, cost-effective bacterial control in a variety of products, including natural and synthetic fibers and fabrics.

The company is unique in the manufacture of proprietary chemical additives that allow customers to permanently integrate nanomaterials within their products through a compatible, integration-ready solution. Its experienced and talented team of scientists, engineers, and operational managers provide product research, design, development, testing, and manufacture, as well as customer support with a focus on quality, environmental stewardship, regulatory adherence, and innovation.

Recently NanoHorizons and G. J. Littlewood & Son, Inc., a Philadelphia-based specialty dye house, had announced a breakthrough application process to integrate SmartSilver into technical, high performance fibers, including Nomex, Basofil, Kevlar, and Twaron. These fibers are used primarily for protective clothing such as bullet-proof vests and fire suits.
