In June 2009, for the first time ever, the SDC will be joining forces with its associate organisation SDC India to stage a global event that promises to be the highlight of the 2009 coloration calendar. The conference entitled Sustainability in Coloration: Vision 2020 will address key issues facing the coloration industry and will be aimed specifically at senior decision makers – chief executives, directors, consultants and dyehouse managers.
This week the new SDC chief executive Susie Hargreaves, making her first trip to India since taking office last October, will arrive in Mumbai and travel to a number of major cities to promote the global conference, and associated exhibition, which will focus on the trends, developments and challenges likely to impact on the textile industry over the next decade.
The event has attracted an international line-up of speakers, many from global household-name companies including Levi Strauss & Co. and BASF, as well as major India-based organisations including Grasim, Alok Industries and Technopak. There will be presentations and networking sessions held on two consecutive days, including the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) Ivan Levinstein Memorial Lecture which commemorates a pioneer of the dyestuff industry.
The event will culminate with the awards dinner and the grand final of the SDC global design competition, as judged by a panel of leading designers and industry figures. The finalists from each of the participating countries – Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom and the United States – will be present for the announcement of the global winner and the presentation of the SDC Colour Design Award 2009.
For any company wishing to identify with the international prestige of the SDC as a promoter of best practice in the coloration industry, a variety of sponsorship packages are available, each with varying levels of benefits.
