Get connected to future of technical textiles at Advanced Textiles

Trend experts predict a new wave for authenticity--authentic products that truly enhance our quality of life, and technical textiles in the various sectors will make a major contribution in this paradigm shift.

The Industrial Fabrics Association International and IHOFMANN have organized and proudly present the 2nd edition of Advanced Textiles, 2-3 April 2009, a uniquely inspiring program.

Thirty experts from Europe and the U.S. will share their know-how and new technology applications, giving you promising leads for cooperation and interdisciplinary business ventures.

Five thematic sessions provide an outlook on the most auspicious applications of technical textiles in the next two to five years

Paul J. Kullman, Senior Commercial Officer, U.S. Embassy in Belgiumhas been added to the program to address Transatlantic Trade & Investment: Challenges and Opportunities.

Mr. Kullman focuses on U.S.-European business cooperation, looking into the new Obama administration, its impact on doing business; and unveiling how the U.S. Embassy helps companies with match-making and market research.

Special Session on medical and biomedical applications features intelligent product innovations

Gerhard Havranek, Head of Marketing Trevira CS & Strategic Business Development at Trevira GmbH in Germany, presents Bioactive Fibers for Antimicrobial Textiles, focusing on new fibers and filament yarns containing a silver additive which is integrated into the polyester polymer backbone providing permanent antimicrobial protection with internationally recognized test standards.

Herbert de Brueck, Head of R&D at Luxilon Industries NV in Belgium, presents New Generation of Monofilaments for Medical Use, focusing on innovative technical monofilaments for medical use and ongoing research and development of cooling filaments, thermoformable materials, yarns for sutures, surgical mesh, braided and other implants; and shares insight on new EU projects.
