The Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr Abdul Siddiqui laid the foundation stone of a Handicrafts Colony in Mithi. Speaking on the occasion, he said, the establishment of the handicrafts colony along with a workshop will generate employment as well as business for the Sindh economy.
He added by saying that, this project will be set up on a land admeasuring 50 acres and will also include a small estate at a cost of Rs 23 million and construction will be completed by 2010, for which the development work had already begun.
He also assured support to the handicraft industry in Thar and said the Sindh Government will build a project which will have 100 housing and workshop units at a cost of Rs 133 million and this project will be completed in the next two years.
