The Asian Benzene market is rebounding since the last three trading days, with indications of buyers surfacing from under waters and looking for good deals. Two contracts were struck on Wednesday for April shipments ranging between US $425-445 per ton (FOB), Korea.
The domestic petrochemical refineries have still not up-scaled their benzene production and supplies are still limited to contract deals stuck in the past few months. In the spot markets, pure benzene prices were relatively stable. In South China, market price was stable at 3600-3700 Yuan per ton.
In East China, the impact was higher from outside markets and prices increased marginally and a large transaction was reportedly struck at 3350-3550 Yuan per ton. North China on the other hand is witnessing a spurt in supplies from the Northeast, with prices quoted between 3600-3800 Yuan per ton.
