Marimekko receives Finlandia Foundation NY Chapter Award

Marimekko has been honoured by the Finlandia Foundation New York Metropolitan Chapter with a special award “for the great success and international acclaim it has gained during the past 58 years and for being a leading and everlasting symbol of Finnish lifestyle and creativity everywhere”.
The award was presented at the Finlandia Foundation New York Metropolitan Chapter's annual gala Awards Dinner Dance last Saturday, 7 March 2009 at the Union League Club in New York City.
The Finlandia Foundation New York Metropolitan Chapter, founded in 1954, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cultural and educational exchange between the United States and Finland. Since 1958, the Chapter has given annual awards to an individual or organization having made major contributions to Finnish culture in the United States.
