Textile industry receives Rs 509 million in budgetary support

The Minister of State for Finance, Ms Hina Rabbani Khar presented an Rs 2.9 trillion budget for the next fiscal, of which Rs 509 million has been allocated for various schemes of the textile industry under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
As per the budgetary allocations made for the textile sector, Rs.246 million has been earmarked for providing and laying a dedicated water pipeline for Textile City Karachi whereas Rs. 207 million have been allocated for Faisalabad Garment City Project.
The Govt under PSDP allocated Rs.25 million for Lahore Garment City Project, 17.33 million for up-gradation of EDF Funded Textile Institutes, Rs.13.57million for Export Development Plan Implementation Unit and Rs.0.84 million for holding of conferences and seminars.
