Clariant strives to be close with customers

Clariant Chemicals organized a conference – “Close to the Consumer” in Bengalaru on June 24, 2009 with a focus on Apparel & Interior and the win-win opportunities that arise when Clariant join hands with the textile retailers and brand owners to exploit synergies.

Mr.Anjani Prasad, Head - Textiles, Leather and Paper Chemicals, Clariant Chemicals (India) Limited, while addressing the participants pointed out that Clariant strives to be close to its customers by providing the complete service range from fiber to finish, using economical, ecological and efficient effects and processes. He pointed out that we are the numero uno in Textile business in India and offers complete packages and process solutions through its well placed production sites and laboratories.

Our internationally acclaimed Product Safety Lab provides full support for all the products. We have already geared up to meet the increasing customer needs with innovative finishes and environmentally friendly and cost effective solutions. Ms. Beate Plueckhan, Head - Marketing Apparel & Interior, Clariant International elaborated on the triangle partnership between Clariant, its worldwide affiliates, the textile producers and the brand owners or retailers. She also detailed on our offering “Advanced Denim”.

The concept which includes eco-friendly processes, cool colors and special effects that brings the added-value to the denim production. One of the many ecological advantages of Advanced Denim is for example that you reach a saving of up to 60% in water consumption through the ecological dyeing process based on the new Diresul RDT biodegradable dyes and chemicals.

Another solution package is “Magic Softness” which fulfills market demands of highly versatile softness and includes products like Solusoft and Ceraperm. These products offer various softness types with value-addition of good sewability, excellent elasticity, wash permanency and improve tear strength. The Nuva N series of products provides PFOA-free (below limit of detection) protection and offers extremely durable water and oil repellant effects for CO, PES, PA and wool including products with a fast curing profile and good soil-release effects with excellent hydrophilic properties. Mr. Keith Parton from Clariant China touched upon the opportunities for retailers and brand owners in China.

He talked about the evolving Chinese textile industries where the trend is increasingly to relocate away from the densely populated areas while companies with a poor environment profile are closing down. Its exports have slumped in the past six months while the local consumer market is growing rapidly. The Industry there is also witnessing the growth of strong local brands and the average spending on clothing is moving from the low end to the high end - the key sectors being sports wear and fashion leisurewear. He touched upon the opportunities for local retailers and brand owners in China.
