Commerce & Industry Min visited DHH

Minister for Commerce and Industries Department of Sikkim, Ms. Neeru Sewa paid a visit to Directorate of Handloom and Handicraft (DHH) for the first time. She was introduced to various segments of DHH during her visit.
The segments such as Carpet weaving section, Thanka painting section, wood carving section along with Apparel training and design centre, Soft Toys making unit, Hand made paper unit, Bamboo craft unit, multi craft unit, sales emporium etc.
She especially praised the Carpet weaving and soft toys making unit. The skills of the artisans and craftsmen impressed the Minister a lot and she was delighted knowing that DHH can impart training to a wide class of youth, particularly girls and can make them skillful and self dependent.
