Grasim to double turnover by 2012

Aditya Birla Group Company, Grasim Textiles Ltd, plans to double its turnover from the current Rs 2.5 billion to Rs 5 billion by the end of fiscal 2012.
The company is well known for its branded suitings, Grasim and Graviera, mainly in the polyester - cellulosic branded menswear segment. Its textile plants are located at Bhiwani (Haryana) and Malanpur (Madhya Pradesh).
The company is expecting an increase in sales from the domestic as well as export markets and also plans to augment the number of exclusive showrooms to meet the sales objective in 2012.
This was revealed by Mr Rahul Jhamb, National Head (Retail) who said that the company would ramp up its current store count from 65 to 100 by the year-end and will also explore new overseas markets like Sri Lanka, Australia and West Asia.
