EU issues warning on children's towels imported from China

The Rapid Alert System for non-food categories (RAPEX) of the European Commission issued a warning to consumers against children's towels known by the brand of "Disney's Lilo & Stitch ", which is made in China.
The case has been put forth by Bulgaria. The case involves Children's towels with various colors and styles; they are packed in separately transparent plastic packaging, with cardboard labels.
According to the complaint, when the product is immersed in water, water shows strong alkaline (PH value at 8.6, exceeding the standard limit of 7.5), which can possibly impact or affect the skin of small children.
Due to which, the product does not comply with EU standards EN14682, and is said to contain, chemical hazards. At present, the Bulgarian government has moved the products out of the market and recalled already sold products from consumers.
