The double appointments of outsourcing in Milan reached its 17th edition from Sept. 9 to 11, 2009 – for textile (fabrics and yarns )READY TO SHOW – for garments and knitwear.

They re-confirm their importance as the international point of reference during the Italian Textile Week! The first turning point of the last edition was the diversification of offers with new exhibitors coming from producing countries such as Peru and Indonesia, in addition to traditional exhibitors from China, Korea, Hong Kong, Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Pakistan and India……

98 collections present at 78 stands (various agents / Italian importers with their different collections or collective stands)Moreover, it is to underline that sub-contracting , of garments and knitwear, has become prevailing to textile import, also thanks to the presence of different vertically integrated groups which are in a position to offer full services ( specially from China and Turkey ).

1788 visitors divided in 1590 Italians (an increase of 2%) and 198 international ( among the more important ones : from Russia, Eastern Europe, Spain and the Middle East ).

Top sellers :
- knitwear in cashmere and mix
- PIMA cotton from Peru (raw materials, fabric and t-shirts)
- fashion accessories (India, China, Hong Kong)
- high fashion fabrics / embroideries (India/China)

A statistic analysis of the Italian participation allows us to identify the geographic areas of the Italian industries who are more interested in outsourcing. The region of Lombardy, surely influenced by the presence of the fair in Milan, heads the number of visitors with 45%. This is followed by the Veneto area with 12%, Tuscany with 10%, Campania with 9% and Emilia Romagna with 9%. It is noted, some presence also came from the Piedmont and Puglia regions.

As regards the typology of visitors, they are mainly Presidents and top managers of high level. It is correct to note that the business of sourcing has given birth to new professional figures (Outsourcing Managers, Operational Directors, Quality controllers). As a result ,it has created a fundamental function, in the globalization process, for these clothing production companies.

In this context, the conference organized by S.G.T. on new techniques of follow up, production and quality control (world leader in quality control present in all producing countries with its wholly owned 7 platforms and 350 employees) has interested a high number of participants among whom top managers of leading companies.

The next appointment of INTERTEX MILANO & READY TO SHOW will be held from February 17 to 19, 2010, at the PALLAZZO DELLE STELLINE in Milan.

In the meantime, T.D.F. organize collective missions and individual sourcing on the spot in their actual countries : Tunisia and China. In addition, T.D.F will participate at the fair EGYTEX which will be held in Cairo from November 22 to 24 with a group of Italian exhibitors, potential suppliers for the Egyptian Textile Clothing industries, and obviously visitors in search of new suppliers.
