 KB Seiren Ltd., a subsidiary of Japan textile producer Seiren Co., has launched a wipe, which has dual applications. It can eliminate both water and oil-based grime.
The new wipe has been produced from industrial-grade Belima yarn with fibers just one-five microns in diameter and the yarn has 12 times the surface area of typical industrial yarns.
The filament produced from these fibers is just 0.1 decitex in diameter and is so fine that just, 453 grams or just one pound is enough to encircle the globe.
This enables it to wipe away even the finest dust without using any detergent. A blend of hydrophilic nylon and polyester, which has a high affinity for oil, it can remove water and oil based dirt.
The company has launched nine styles of wipes; six for household applications and three for automotive use. KB Seiren is targeting 100 million yen in sales in the first fiscal year.
