Guangdong to have slew of petrochemical projects

Sinopec's Maoming branch has recently started a refining project with a scale of 20-million-tons per year which also includes a plant to manufacture one million tons of ethylene. Its 15 million tons per year refinery project in western Guangdong has also started.
Both CNOOC's 12 million tons per year refinery and CSPC's 800,000 tons per annum ethylene project located in the petrochemical cluster of Huizhou Daya Bay have expansion plans in next year, which includes a 40 million tons per annum oil refining project and a three million tons per year ethylene project.
PetroChina in Jieyang, Guangdong plans to build a refinery and petrochemical project with a oil refining capacity of 50 million tons per year and to produce one million tons per annum of ethylene. The first phase of the refinery project (20 million tons per year) has already entered the start-up phase.
