Handicrafts & textiles buyer-seller meet at Varanasi

The Eastern UP Exporters Association is organizing a Buyers-Sellers meet for handicrafts & textiles at Varanasi for three days, from February 21 to 23, 2009.

Varanasi is the hub of silk, carpet, handicraft and handloom industry in India and a prominent business city of eastern region of the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Other neighbouring regions, such as Mubarakpur, Maunath Bhanjan, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Khamaria, Gopiganj, Aurai, etc. too are major major manufacturing centers of textiles, carpet and handicrafts.

The traditional art of weaving design on sari, textile and carpets has been passed from generation to generation and is a great heritage of this region.

Products being manufactured here find a pride of place in big and reputed stores even in remotest corner of the country and many parts of the world.
