NITRA invited to bamboo fibre seminar in China

Tenbro, China is the first and most specialized bamboo fiber supplier in China. In 2000, Tenbro began to export bamboo fiber products to Asia, Europe and America. Since 2003, Tenbro pursued greater success in overseas markets such as UK, USA, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Turkey, Korea, Japan, India, Pakistan, Israel, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Holland, New Zealand, Argentina, Peru, Portugal, Chile, Egypt and Mexico.

In 2009, Tenbro celebrated its 5th anniversary and a conference was organized to mark the moment at Yibin city in Sichuan State of China. About 250 stake holders of bamboo family i.e. bamboo cultivators, bamboo processors, selling agents of bamboo fibres, bamboo researchers and also the users/manufacturers of bamboo-products, participated in the 2-day conference held on December 10-11, 2009.

Amongst the overseas users, representatives from Japan, Turkey, Korea, Pakistan and India attended the conference. NITRA was invited by Tenbro to represent the Indian sector. Dr. J. V. Rao, Director and Shri A Pal, Dy. Director NITRA attended the conference. Dr. Rao made an elaborate presentation on the current Indian textile scenario and initiatives taken by Govt. of India for the promotion of technical textiles such as bamboo.

Strategy to promote the use of bamboo based products in Indian market and how NITRA can associate in this task was also discussed at length with the senior representatives of Shanghai Tenbro Bamboo Textile Co Ltd.
