Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) intends to establish a number of kiosks at INA Market, in a bid to give a boost to the handicraft industry. These kiosks will mainly put handicrafts and food items for sale, and will operate as a model market.
This market will encompass a total of 200 kiosks; most of which will sell handicraft items. These kiosks will provide souvenirs to the tourists during Commonwealth Games 2010, as INA market is positioned exactly opposite to Dilli Haat.
These kiosks will have solar panels, and a toilet functioning without water will also be placed near the kiosks. The licensing committee of the Delhi civic body took this decision of setting up the kiosks in a meeting held last week.
