On April 2, 2010, Oxeon declared that it was building its stand as a market leader for ultra lightweight spread low carbon reinforcement fibre by increasing the current capacity in its Borås facility. After introducing a new line, the company will order some more lines.
Andreas Martsman, Vice President, Business Development said, “We are confident with our expansion plans, as there is, a continuous growth in demand for ultra light weight fabrics. Simultaneously we have also received excellent response from users for our Spread Tow Fabrics – TeXtreme.”
Successful utilisation of TeXtreme by sporting goods and race cars has boosted the demand for it to heightened levels. Composite manufacturers using TeXtreme have reduced the weight by almost 25-30 per cent with similar and/or even superior mechanical performance.
Having witnessed higher growth rates in the last years, Martsman goes to explain, “We are lucky to gain customers that find great value in our products and continued to widen their use of TeXtreme even during the economic meltdown.
Moreover, we have found an immense interest in the flexibility of our technologies that is helping us tailor make and together develop most favourable structures for various applications.”
