SANITIZED strengthens its innovation competence

By creating a new position for an Innovation Manager and filling the positions for an R&D Textiles Manager and Polymer Additives Product Manager, SANITIZED AG underscored its role as a pioneer and innovator in the field of antimicrobial hygiene function and material protection.

SANITIZED AG wants to continue to expand its reputation as the world's leading provider of antimicrobial hygiene function and material protection as well as for comprehensive consulting expertise for their development and application in the future. For this reason, an Innovation Manager position was created to whom the R&D Manager for Textiles and Polymers reports. Dr. Heinz Katzenmeier has agreed to take on this challenging assignment. Katzenmeier holds a doctorate in chemistry and began this new task as Head of Innovation and Product Development in February 2010. He can draw on many years of R&D experience and outstanding knowledge of the markets, which he most recently demonstrated at Clariant.

Establishing a new position was something Katzenmeier found very appealing. “Constant and continuous development of application technologies paired with a demand for the greatest possible compatibility of the finishing techniques often demands individual solutions to achieve optimum results. This is precisely where SANITIZED is strong. And my clearly formulated objective is expanding this expertise.”

There is also news from the R&D Department. Dr. Roland Harbig was appointed the new R&D Manager Textiles at SANITIZED at the beginning of 2010. He also has a doctorate in chemistry and brings a wide range of experience in application technique as well as quality assurance, product safety, and of course R&D to this responsibility.

Further, SANITIZED AG would like to welcome Dr. Bruno Piastra, 41, as the new Product Manager Polymer Additive. After studies in chemistry and physics (with a Masters in Material Science) at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Lyon, France, he completed his doctorate in chemistry at the Ecole Polytechnique in Palaiseau. Piastra held various positions at Clariant including as the Technical Marketing Manager Additive for the French and Italian markets. Most recently, he was Marketing Coordination Manager for the Pigments and Additives Division at Clariant in Muttenz, Switzerland.

SANITIZED's expertise in the market and customer-oriented development of antimicrobial effect will be enhanced through the addition of these new staff members.
