The Government of Botswana has approved a P38 million revival package for the textile industry, out of which assistance has been provided to 12 textile companies amounting to P1.2 million, revealed an PRO of Botswana Exporters and Manufacturers Association (BEMA).
The PRO also revealed that the government would also act as a guarantor to access loans from Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA), which will help the industry to expand and also assist in paying a part of employee salaries.
The PRO added by saying that, the stimulus package is a temporary measure meant for a period of two years and will boos the prospects of the textile industry and make it more competitive regionally and globally and contribute to development of local economy.
