Chinese PTA imports down in May

China's imports of PTA (Customs Tariff No. 29173611) registered 457,200 tons in May 2010, according to customs statistics, down by 16,800 tons compared with April 2010, with the average import price standing at US $968 / ton.
Imports of other terephthalic acid (Customs Tariff No. 29173619) fetched 87,200 tons, representing a substantial reduction of 36,000 tons from April, with the average import price fetching $917/ ton.
