Turkey plans to build warehouses in Los Angeles in the state of California in a bid to promote and grow exports from Turkey to the United States as well as particularly, California.
This was revealed by the Turkish State Minister of Foreign Trade, Zafer Çaglayan, who said that he had held talks with officials of the Los Angeles Port Authority.
The idea behind setting up these storehouses is to provide faster services to US customers and in the process provide a boost to exports of textiles, clothing and leather goods.
He said, “we have identified five sectors for maintaining stocks at the storehouses: textiles, clothing, leather goods and shoes, chemicals, plastics and furniture”.
He added by saying that, this was the way Asian countries like China and South Korea worked, which had helped them become export power-houses.
