PX & PTA prices gain, ethylene remains unchanged

Demand for Paraxylene returned to a reasonable level, mainly due to support from decline in supply of raw materials. In S E Asian market, PX jumped to US $870 / ton while in Korean markets, PX traded in the range of $850-855 / ton.
Today, PTA opened with a gain. Taiwan PTA was offered at $855 / ton, but deals concluded mainly around $848 / ton. PTA imported from Korea stood in price range of $825-830 / ton. In short term outlook, speculators expect prices to decline.
In S E Asia, ethylene prices remained unchanged in the range of $794-796 / ton. In Europe, domestic market price increased to €930 / ton, while imported goods were available at $955 / ton. In US market, price was steady at 33 cents/pound.
MEG prices consolidated at the current level of $705-710 / ton. In S E Asia, MEG traded around $705 / ton. Few confident sellers kept their domestic price at RMB 6050 / ton while it was traded around RMB 5950/ton.
In FG PET Chips, offers prevailed in the range of $1060-1075 / ton while trading hovered around $1055-1070 / ton. In Chinese domestic market, price was in the range of RMB 9150-9250 / ton.
