Central Govt grants Rs.200 crore for CETPs setup in Tirupur

Tirupur Exporters' Association informs that the Central Government grant of Rs.200 crore to CETPs setup in Tirupur announced in the Union Budget 2010-11 has been passed in the Parliament on 11th August 2010.

Shri.A.Sakthivel, President said he has sent a thanks letter to the Hon'ble Union Minister of Textiles, Thiru.Dayanidhi Maran and added that the Hon'ble Textile Minister has been instrumental for allocation and sanctioning of the grant to CETPs in Tirupur. He further said without the sincere efforts of the Hon'ble Minister the grant would not have seen the light of the day.

Shri.Sakthivel said he has also sent thanks letters to Smt.Rita Menon, I.A.S.,Textile Secretary and Shri. V.Srinivas,I.A.S., Joint Secretary, (Exports) for their support and help for allocation and sanctioning of the grant to CETPs.

Tirupur Exporters Association – popularly known as TEA - was established in the year 1990. This is an Association exclusively for exporters of cotton knitwear who have production facilities in Tirupur. From the modest beginning TEA has grown into a strong body of knitwear exporters. Today, TEA has a membership of 686 Life members and 155 Associate Members.
