Joy Jordan, global strategy program leader at Kimberly-Clark Corporation, will present “Sustainability Initiatives at Kimberly-Clark” at this year's NETInc Conference. The presentation is the lead-in to the conference's “Session 12: Sustainability and Environment,” to be presented on Friday, November 12. The conference will take place in Raleigh, N.C. from November 10-12, 2010.

Larry C. Wadsworth of the University of Tennessee will chair the four-component session that also includes a presentation by Janet O'Regan of Cotton Incorporated; “Comparison of the Biodegradation Performance of Meltblown PLA, Spunbond PLA, and Cellulosic Mulch Fabrics in Soil Treatments Used in Crops” by Larry C. Wadsworth, Annette L. Wszelaki, Douglas G. Hayes, Jaehoon Lee, all of the University of Tennessee; and “Oil Absorbing and Vapor Retaining Nonwovens" presented by Vinitkumar Singh, Utkarsh Sata, Sudheer Jinka, Muralidhar Lalagiri, Seshadri Ramkumar, all of Texas Tech University, and Amit Kapoor of First Line Technologies.

Jordan works in the Global Nonwovens sector of Kimberly-Clark that manufactures approximately $1.5 billion on nonwoven fabrics for all Kimberly-Clark businesses. Her teams have developed advantaged materials for the company's mega-brands, including HUGGIES , PULL UPS, KOTEX, KIMGUARD, and KLEENGUARD. As a scientist, she has brought to market many novel technologies -- nonwovens, absorbents, environmentally friendly materials, elastics, breathable films, coatings, and recycled fabrics. She is an inventor on 10 patents. She has also contributed to manufacturing cost savings totaling more than $20 million.

Sponsored by TAPPI's NET (Nonwovens Engineers & Technologists) Division and the Nonwovens Institute (NWI), the Innovative Nonwovens Conference (NETInc), will take place November 10-12, 2010, in Raleigh, N.C. USA. It is the only technical conference developed by engineers and technologists to help integrate the innovation behind the science and how it impacts the market.
