Yesim Tekstil, a leading circular knitter from Turkey has been recently honoured by Burberry, a leading global apparel and accessories brand, and was presented with the brand's '2011 Protect Award'.

Yesim was the only Turkish producer to be awarded with the honour. The honour was conferred on the producer for its long-lasting commitment towards betterment of the working conditions, environment protection and introduction of related techniques, gaining the SA 8000 certificate, ethical trade and other efforts aimed at preserving the brand name.

In addition to this, the Turkish producer's innovative, practical and prophetic approach in the 'Project for Traceability of Cotton Origin' too is believed to have played a part in earning it the honour.

A top company official, while sharing his views on being conferred with the Protect Award for the first time said that, the award was a result of Yesim Tekstil's enduring efforts for betterment of its employees and the citizens, and towards sustaining the environment while adhering to the 'Humans First' motto. Thus, he said that, they take this award as an appreciation of their long-lasting efforts and take pride in it.

Yesim Tekstil based in Bursa in northwest Turkey, employs around 3,000 workers in its garment and home textile manufacturing units, and has a daily production capacity of 70 tons of dyed products, 55 tons knitted, 150,000 garments, 100,000 meters of printed fabric and 60,000 home textile items.
