Executive Committee elects Office Bearers of NITMA

The Executive Committee of the Northern India Textile Mill's Association (NITMA) at its meeting held on 1st April, 2011, at New Delhi unanimously elected Shri Mukund Choudhary, Managing Director of Spentex Industries Ltd, has been unanimously elected as President of NITMA, Shri K K Agarwal, Chairman, Alps Industries Ltd, as Sr. Vice President of NITMA and Shri Sharad Jaipuria, Chairman, Ginni International Ltd, as Vice President of NITMA.

Shri Mukund Choudhary has started his professional career very early with a vision of foraying into textile manufacturing. Spentex Industries today has 5 factories in India, two in Uzbekistan and one in the Chezh Republic with over 5 lac spindles and 200 looms with a world wide turnover of Rs 1300 crores and 12000 employees in position in the offices and plants worldwide.

Under his leadership, Spentex Group has won number of prestigious awards for its remarkable performance in export sales from the prestigious organizations like TEXPROCIL, SRTEPC, NITMA, Ministry of Power- Government of India as also from the Department of Light Industry, Govt. of Tashkent.

Mr.K.K.Agarwal, Chairman, Alps Industries Limited, aged 69 years is a qualified Textile Technologist from Government Central Textile Institute, Kanpur (UP)

He started his textile business in 1962 in a partnership firm and later on promoted Alps Textiles (P) Ltd to Alps Industries Limited in 1972 and subsequently converted it into a Public Limited company in 1994. Today Alps Industries Limited is one of the first vertically integrated mills set up in India with the vision of Mr. Agarwal whose aim has been to deliver and share his ideas with the world.

Mr. Agarwal has more than 49 year's experience in Textile Industry and has been instrumental in introducing the new product range with his innovative ideas. He has been deeply involved in extensive Research & Development with Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi to produce Eco-friendly products for Home-furnishing market.

Shri Sharad Jaipuria is Chairman and Managing Director of M/s. Ginni International Ltd., a composite textile mill producing Cotton yarn, Woven fabrics and Denim fabrics. The annual turnover of the Company is over Rs. 350 Crores.

He is also Chairman of Ginni Global Limited, which is in renewable energy and is running two small hydro electric power projects of 5 MW each in the State of Himachal Pradesh.

Mr. Jaipuria is President of Integral Education Society which runs and manages Jaipuria Institute of Management (Lucknow, Noida, Jaipur and Indore) and Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Lucknow, which are premier educational Institutes of the country and imparts high quality education to the students.

Northern India Textile Mills' Association (NITMA) is an association of Textile Mills located in Northern India and was established in the year 1958. It is a registered under Societies Act XX1 of 1860 and is a non profit making body solely engaged in helping promote the interest of India's Textile Industry particularly in the northern part of the country covering states like J&K, Punjab , Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, U.P. and Madhya Pradesh.
