A panel has recommended that the Kuokuang Petrochemical Project be given conditional approval or rejected outright.
A panel convened by the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) will forward the same to an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) committee.
This committee will have the final word on the fate of the controversial project and is expected to meet sometime in the month of May.
The multi-billion dollar project has been proposed to be built in Changhua County in central Taiwan. The panelists came to a conclusion that a lot of details still needed to be discussed.
