Foreign firms to boost up Turkmen textile sector

A discussion forum on developing international cooperation was hosted by the Turkmenistan Ministry of Textile Industry at Ashgabat recently.

Turkmen and representatives of foreign companies, who participated in the discussion, deliberated on various ways to help the Turkmenistan national textile industry achieve its full potential.

Representatives of companies from Belgium, Germany, Italy, Republic of Korea, Switzerland, and Turkey discussed issues relating to improvement of quality of service, modernization of the textile industry, introduction of highly efficient and non-polluting technologies, increasing export potential, and establishment of new production facilities.

Companies like Their, Volkmann (both from Germany), Huvis, Hyosung (both from Korea), and Riranol (Belgium), expressed their willingness to do business in Turkmenistan.

Some European companies which are already doing business in Turkmenistan gave assurance of strengthening their business partnership with the country. These included Marzoli, Oerlikon, Rieter, Truetzschler, Savio, and Schlafhorst.
