Stahl, world leader in specialty chemistry of coatings, processing and treatments, will be showcasing its newest responsible technologies for leather-making at ACLE 2019 in Shanghai, China, from September 3-5, at booth b05, hall e2. From beamhouse till finishing, Stahl offers high-quality technologies that are designed with product and planet in mind.

Demand for quality leathers with a lower environmental impact continues to increase across the garment, footwear and leather goods industries. Tanners, manufacturers and brands are on the look-out for cleaner technologies in leather production without compromising on the quality of the leather. By reducing hazardous chemicals and opting for renewable raw materials, Stahl is committed to creating responsible chemistry to improve the environmental impact of the supply chain, said the company in a press release.

At ACLE, Stahl will showcase its newest responsible technologies that are meeting the strictest environmental standards like a) Stahl Neo: low-impact portfolio covering the entire tanning and finishing of leather-making that complies with the ZDHC MRSL and is designed to be free of other substances listed in REACh Annex XIV and SVHC b) Densodrin Polymeric Generation: the cleanest 100 per cent polymeric waterproofing technology to date c) New beamhouse technologies: A complete portfolio of responsible beamhouse and tanning solutions to reduce water consumption and the amount of sulfides solids and salt used in leather production.

A prime example is the 100 per cent biodegradable Proviera - probiotics for leather, which is used to replace conventional soaking, liming and degreasing agents and create high-quality leathers while also significantly improving the quality of the wastewater emitted in beamhouse processes.

Stahl will give several workshops and demonstrations during ACLE. During the Materials & Technological Trend Forum in hall 3, Stahl's global technical manager Claus Reineking will host a seminar on the topic of 'New beamhouse technologies, their application and benefits' on September 3.

Next to samples and demonstrations of their wide range of shoe finish and aftercare products, head of Stahl Design Studio Émilie Musso will give a workshop on the Fall/Winter 202/2021 Fashion Trends forecasting on September 4 in the Leather Naturally Zone, hall e1. (PC)
