Spain promises support against anti-dumping duties on linen

Spain has assured its support to Pakistan regarding the issue of EU imposing anti-dumping levies on local bed linen. At a meeting with Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on February 14, 2007, Spanish Ambassador Jose Maria Robles Fraga made this announcement.
Fraga expressed hope that industrial co-operation and JVs can be developed between both nations in the fields of agricultural products, power, electrical appliances, engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, mineral and related products.
He added that the Chambers of Commerce in Spain and Pakistan should help to promote trade relations, which need to be institutionalized between both countries. Spanish SME sector is eyeing the country owing to quick economic growth.
Zaheer Islam, Honorary Consul of Spain, attended the meeting. Speeches were delivered by LCCI President Shahid Hassan Sheikh, Senior Vice President Yaqoob Tahir Izhar and Vice President Mubasher Sheikh.
