Textile resources provider Concept III Textiles will unveil a new 'Fabric Library' database on their web site and demonstrate it for the first time in their booth at ORWM 06. The library will list both current Fall '06 fabrics, now in production, and new Spring '07 prototypes as they are developed.
The new feature will allow the company's customers - brand manufacturers and private label retailers - to search the database for fabrics by construction, fiber, weight and technical features.
“Our strong personal connection with each of our customers is of prime importance, but so, too, is speed to market”, says David Parkes, Concept III president. “The new database will give them a head start in sourcing fabrics and quick answers to questions that may have waited until our next meeting.”
Concept III's Fabric Library was developed with the help of TEXbase, a software development company based in Montana that specializes in product data and information management and resources planning specifically for the textile and apparel industries.
Formerly with Patagonia, Joe Walkuski, TEXbase founder and CEO is familiar with the textile development process. “Typically, fabric developers do a lot of leg-work to source raw materials: meeting with vendors to thumb through swatches, building prototypes and managing deadlines all of which can take months. At TEXbase, we can streamline the process, saving over half the time.”
New Jersey based Concept III is an inclusive resource for the development, sourcing and production of fabric-based finished products. It works almost exclusively with three top quality international textile mills: Glenoit (US, China: sliver knit Microfabrics and faux furs), Rentex (Canada: innovative technical knits) and Kingwhale (Taiwan: premium quality fleeces, Dri-release microblends, laminates, micro-poly).
