JX Nippon restarts Mizushima PX line after turnaround

Japan based JX Nippon Oil and Energy Corp has restarted a Paraxylene (PX) line at its Mizushima plant, which underwent a turnaround.

“Line no-3 of the PX plant located in Mizushima which went off-stream on January 31, 2013 has been restarted after a maintenance turnaround on March 21,” a JX Nippon official told fibre2fashion.
 
She also added that line no-3 which has a PX capacity of 350,000 tons per annum is now running at full capacity.
 
JX Nippon Oil and Energy Corp operates five PX plants across Japan. The PX plant in Mizushima has three lines. Line no-1 and line no-2 each have a production capacity of 230,000 tons per year, while line no-3 has a production capacity of 350,000 tons per year. 
 
The PX plant located in Oita has a capacity of 440,000 tons per year and Kawasaki has a capacity of 400,000 tons per annum.
 
JX operates two PX lines in Kashima. Line no-1 has a capacity of 170,000 tons per year and line no-2 has capacity of 475,000 tons per year. 
 
The Chita based plant too has two PX lines, each with a capacity of 200,000 tons per annum. 
 
All the PX plants are currently operating at near capacity rates.
