Carlos Fresnedo and Federico Susena, directors of the Donmibal enterprises, who are representing Texhong in Uruguay, said the construction work for the textile factory would begin immediately once Texhong receives environmental clearances from DINAMA and permits from UTE—Uruguay’s state-owned power company, as the factory will have high energy requirements, reports Uruguayan newspaper El Pais.

The textile factory would focus on the production of yarn of artificial polyester fibers and viscose to be used as feedstock for the manufacturing of clothing, especially sportswear, innerwear and performance apparel which would be exported to garment industries in Brazil, they added. The production capacity is estimated to reach approximately 21,500 tons of yarn per year.
