Americhem Dalton plant expansion to add service for nonwovens industry

Americhem Inc, the global leader in the production of color and additive concentrates for the synthetic fibers industry, has announced that its Dalton, GA plant is undergoing a major expansion to add service for the nonwovens industry. The facility will add more than 15,000 square feet to its manufacturing, labs, shipping, and office areas.
In the plant, more manufacturing and warehouse space is being added. A new production line has been installed to make performance modifying additives essential to the growing nonwovens industry.
New warehousing and shipping facilities are being installed to improve efficiency and delivery schedules for Americhem's customers around the globe. Completion of the expansion is scheduled for spring of 2007.
“Americhem has been viewed as the technology and quality leader in the fibers business for many years,” said Russ Neuman, Business Director for Americhem. “With this plant expansion, we'll look to build on our solid capabilities and technologies in olefin-based products. We anticipate several product introductions for nonwovens in the near future.”
The Dalton facility's offices will add a new color design center. This center, also expected to open in the spring of 2007, will allow customers to view over 1,000 color fiber samples under multiple lighting conditions. Backed by the plant's existing fiber extrusion laboratory capabilities, customers will be able to design fibers color products within the Americhem Dalton facility.
As one of the world's largest privately-owned color concentrate producers, Americhem Inc operates eight manufacturing plants worldwide including its newest in Suzhou, China and a European plant in Manchester, UK. The company's corporate research and development facilities/world headquarters are located in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The company also maintains representative sales offices in Shanghai, Seoul, Mexico City and Luxembourg.
