Leading online retailer May Department Stores are launching the House Beautiful Home Collection, the first line of home furnishings that provides consumers with tools to help them decorate with color like the professionals.
The new line of home accessories and textiles in 32 exclusive, custom-developed colors is designed to inspire people to make their homes as colorful and interesting as the pages of House Beautiful magazine. Each package contains paint-style color chips and decorator tips that encourage people to mix, but not necessarily match, elements of decor, creating fun and unexpected color combinations. The line, which includes a range of "irresistible" and affordable products -- from ultra-soft bed linens to colorful, casual dinnerware to reversible bath towels is available now at nearly 370 stores operated by The May Department Stores Company.
"Professional decorators often recommend a palette of at least three or four colors to make a room look pulled together, but that's where it becomes tricky for people to figure out how to decorate on their own," says Carol Williams, president of May Department Stores International, the division responsible for private brands and the company's brand development. "Company wanted to create a line that would simplify decisions and make decorating a fun and creative experience."
