Freudenberg Nonwovens, the world's largest nonwovens manufacturers has announced that an organizational restructuring of its global divisions will take place on 1st January 2008.

The core of the new structure will be the consolidation of the Tuft Division, the spunlaid activities of the Hygiene business and the Evolon Division. These three will form the new SPUNLAID Division, headed by Christian Marx, Vice-President and General Manager Global Spunlaid Division.

The Staple Fiber operations of the Technical Nonwovens and Hygiene Divisions, regionally-managed at present, will also be consolidated to form the new global INDUSTRIAL NONWOVENS Division, headed by Helmut Beck, Vice-President and General Manager Global Industrial Nonwovens Division.

Due to the special regional conditions in Latin America and South Africa, Freudenberg's Nonwovens operations in those countries will be merged to form one division headed by Juan Carlos Borchardt.

Today's FILTER Division will become an independent Business Group within the Freudenberg Group of Companies on the 1st of January 2009.

The INTERLINING Division will not be affected by the change.
"This is an important step towards increasing the efficiency of our nonwoven operations", explained Bruce Olson, Freudenberg Nonwovens President.

"The concentration of spunlaid and staple fiber technologies in the new divisions will strengthen them, enabling them to operate still more effectively and to address the requirements of their markets more intensely. We are bundling our broad spectrum of know-how in both manufacturing technologies - thus reinforcing our global operations."

After many successful years with Freudenberg Nonwovens, Bill Casey, until now responsible for Global Tuft operations and for the region of North America, has decided to leave the company due to personal reasons.
